Aam Ka murabba. Aam ka murabba is a preserve made from tart sour mangoes. Its basically a two-ingredient recipe – mangoes and sugar. Both are cooked till you get a jam-like consistency and there you have a finger licking sweet-sour tasting preserve.

Ingredients of Aam Ka murabba
- Prepare 1 kg of kacha aam(Keri).
- Prepare 2 cups of sugar.
- You need 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
- Prepare 4-5 pieces of green cardamon.
- Prepare 2 sticks of cinnamon.
- It’s 1 liter of water.
- You need of Food colour for the colour.
Murabbas are used as medicines for many ailments in traditional Indian medicines. Aam Ka Murabba is made from Raw mangoes. Like mangoes, (Safeda, Dusseri, Langda etc), raw mangoes too come in many varieties. Type Of Mangoes Used or Murabba 'Ramkela' is good for making mango pickles whereas for making Murabba, 'Rajapuri' raw mangoes are best.
Aam Ka murabba step by step
- First of all cut the mangoes into pieces according to your desire..
- Now take a pan on medium flame and pour 1 liter of water in it and make it hot and put the mango pieces in it and cook until they get soft..
- It will take 10 to 12 minutes to soften. After 10 to 12 minutes, it will look as below..
- Now strain the mango pieces and set the water aside and pour the mango pieces in the same pot on medium flame..
- Now add 2 cups of sugar..
- Now add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice so that the sugar will not caramelized..
- Now cook until the sugar melts..
- Now add cinnamon sticks, cardamons and food colour and mix them well..
- Now cook about 12 to 15 minutes until the sugar syrup thickened and then turn off the flame and pour the mixture in a bowl. It is ready and refrigerate it and enjoy after cool down..
