Thair vada. Thayir vadai is the South Indian variation of dahi vada. It is very different in taste than the North Indian dahi vada. Mainly as sweet chutney and green chutney is not added.

- Prepare 1 cup of Urad dal.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Pepper (whole).
- It’s 2 tsp of Rice powder.
- It’s to taste of Salt.

- You need 2 tsp of Green chillies finely chopped.
- You need 2 cup of Dahi/curd.
- You need 2 tsp of Sugar.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Mustard seeds.
- It’s 2 of green chillies (chopped).
- Prepare 2 tsp of curry leaves.
- Prepare 2 tsp of coriander leaves.
Thayir vadai is a very delicious south Indian snack. I love to make this dish very often and even i would always order this when i go for any hotels. Many people think that preparing Dhahi vada in house is not delicious as we eat in hotels. Curd vadai recipe is made at most of the homes with leftover Vadais, but my mom always makes Thayir vadai with freshly made Vadais as we all love curd vadais.
Thair vada step by step
- Soak the urud daal for six hours and grind it to coarse texture without adding water..
- Add rice powder and pepper along with salt to the mixture and keep it for 15 min.
- Take a pan and pour oil for deep frying.make small vadas and fry till golden brown..
- Cut the ginger, green chillies and coriander leaves.add this to the curd and mix well along with 2 tsp sugar.
- Soak the vadas in curd mix for 30 min.
- Take a small pan and pour some oil.once oil is hot add mustard seeds and chillies along with curry leaves and pour the tadka to the dahi vada mix..
- Serve chilled.
